Overturn Citizens United

According to the Supreme Court, money now equals speech. Because of Citizens United, it now takes a lot more money than it used to to influence legislators and to elect candidates. The voices of the wealthy and of corporations drown out the voices of those who don’t have much to spend on politics.

I agree with the following statement from Move To Amend:

“We, the People of the United States of America, reject the U.S. Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling and other related cases, and move to amend our Constitution to firmly establish that money is not speech, and that human beings, not corporations, are persons entitled to constitutional rights.” https://movetoamend.org/

Overturning Citizens United is a first step. If our democracy is to survive, we must have publicly funded elections.
